Duriel E.
Harris holds a Ph.D. from the University of Illinois
at Chicago, an M.A. from the Graduate Creative Writing
Program at NYU, and a B.A. in Literature from Yale University.
Her writing has been published in ACM (Another
Chicago Magazine), African American Review,
Beyond the Frontier, Fence, and nocturnes
(re)view of the literary arts. A co-founder of
Black took Collective and Poetry Editor for Obsidian
III: Literature in the African Diaspora, she has
received grants from the Cave Canem Foundation and the
Illinois Arts Council. Currently at work on Soma,
a sound recording, Harris was recently heralded by WBEZ
Chicago Public Radio as one of three Chicago poets for
the 21st century. Drag is her first book. |
